Yohimbe was originally
used in Africa as an aphrodisiac (for sexual stimulation).
Yohimbine comes from the bark of the yohimbe
tree. The herb has commonly been used for sexual dysfunction,
including erectile dysfunction in men.
Unfortunately, it is not known (well scientifically anyway)
whether yohimbe is effective for any health conditions
or not... simply because there have been no clinical trials
with yohimbe.
It is known however that yohimbe CAN be dangerous. It
has been associated with high blood pressure, increased
heart rate, anxiety AND dizziness. This is why a LOT of
male enhancement products do not use this herb (although
some do). On this site,
